You are at the Center of SecUrity

Purpose: To address growing cybersecurity threats and meet regulatory compliance standards, government-affiliated public agency sought to improve its annual IT Security Awareness program, which had previously relied on static PowerPoint presentations. In response, I developed CSI: Cyber Security Investigation – System Restore, an interactive eLearning experience designed to engage employees and deepen their understanding of key cybersecurity practices. Learners take on the role of rookie investigators solving three confidential cases focused on phishing, device security, and password protection. Through realistic scenarios and hands-on problem-solving, participants build practical skills, internalize policies, and earn the title of Cybersecurity Investigator Specialist.

Where seconds count to serving the right diet…

Purpose: I designed Diet Dash, an interactive, game-based eLearning training, to help Healthcare Servers at a Continuing Care Retirement Community safely and accurately serve meals according to each resident’s prescribed dietary needs. Collaborating with subject matter experts, I developed realistic scenarios and customized content aligned with facility procedures. Through three progressive levels—Sapphire, Ruby, and Diamond—learners build essential skills in diet identification, food selection, adaptive device use, and safe meal delivery. Learners reinforce safe practices that prevent serious health risks—such as choking, allergic reactions, and nutritional imbalances—while sharpening comprehension, retention, and decision-making.

Brush up on HIPAA

Purpose: With the daily handling of sensitive patient data, HIPAA compliance became a top priority for a dental practice. They needed a training solution that not only met regulatory standards but also engaged staff in a meaningful way. I developed Getting to the Root of the Case, an interactive, whodunit-style eLearning module where learners investigate potential HIPAA violations through realistic scenarios. This approach makes compliance training memorable, practical, and effective—empowering staff to identify risks, respond appropriately, and protect patient privacy.

Track changes in Learning with Microsoft Office Skills
Purpose: As part of my Microsoft Office instructor-led classes, I observed that many students struggled to move beyond basic functions and develop the practical skills essential for academic and professional success. While they understood core concepts, they often lacked the hands-on experience needed to solve real-world problems or feel confident preparing for certification exams. To address this, I created short, scenario-based challenges using PowToon. These animated modules brought assignments to life, transforming passive learning into active skill-building and helping students apply their knowledge in realistic contexts while boosting engagement and confidence.

To further enhance learning in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, I designed creative, hands-on assignments that blended technical skills with pop culture. Students practiced scheduling meetings with well-known celebrities and built table databases and dashboards based on their favorite music, video games, or movies. These imaginative scenarios made the learning experience more relatable and enjoyable, while reinforcing key application features in a memorable way.

Make the Right Choice with HIPAA

Purpose: As part of the annual compliance and HIPAA training at Keystone Human Services, I designed an interactive learning experience to support employees in making informed decisions about protecting the privacy of the individuals they serve. The training offers two tailored learning paths: one for employees new to HIPAA, which includes a review of essential policies and terminology, and another for those already familiar, allowing them to begin scenario-based decision-making immediately. After selecting their path, employees engage with five challenges eflecting real-world situations—such as sharing PHI on social media, transporting PHI, discussing PHI with others, and handling PHI in the workplace. Each challenge presents choices that can lead to either compliant or risky outcomes, reinforcing best practices through engaging, realistic examples.
